The Tranquilo Traveler

The Tranquilo Traveler is a celebration of voluntourism, slow travel, and other interesting ways to see the world. Travel writer and award- winning Moon Handbooks author Joshua Berman created The Tranquilo Travel as a resource for world trippers and international volunteers, a window to the author’s travels in Nicaragua, Belize, and beyond, and an update of his books and articles.

A Global Tour to the Countries, Factories, and People that Make Our Clothes.

As I point out, you don’t see many “Made-in-Belize” labels (there is no garment industry there, unlike the rest of Central America), but if you know where to look, there are some wonderful cottage industries to explore. Kelsey’s next book is Where Am I Eating?, and I offer some suggestions for what I think would be a great chapter on the Fair Trade–certified cacao trade of southern Belize. screen-shot-2009-12-07-at-94950-pm.png Enjoy:
