The Tranquilo Traveler
The Tranquilo Traveler is a celebration of voluntourism, slow travel, and other interesting ways to see the world. Travel writer and award- winning Moon Handbooks author Joshua Berman created The Tranquilo Travel as a resource for world trippers and international volunteers, a window to the author’s travels in Nicaragua, Belize, and beyond, and an update of his books and articles.
Nicaragua Fundraiser BBQ and Backyard Concert in Boulder this Sunday
What do Nicaragua, bluegrass music, Colorado, and chocolate have in common? They’re all converging this Sunday, in front of Boulder’s famous flatirons in a fund-raising event for Empowerment International, a Granada, Nicaragua-based non-government organization (NGO) which focuses on education issues. Definitely browse their website to see what they’re up to, then, if you’re in the Rocky Mountain neighborhood, swing by the event. I hope to be there, listening to music from three local bands while meeting fellow “Nicaradans,” as I call the surprisingly large number of Colorado Nica-philes. Click ahead for details:
