The Tranquilo Traveler

The Tranquilo Traveler is a celebration of voluntourism, slow travel, and other interesting ways to see the world. Travel writer and award- winning Moon Handbooks author Joshua Berman created The Tranquilo Travel as a resource for world trippers and international volunteers, a window to the author’s travels in Nicaragua, Belize, and beyond, and an update of his books and articles.

Tranquilo Site of the Week: Dancin’ Matt

matt.jpgI forget how I first stumbled upon Dancin’ Matt, but he’s been on my blogroll for a couple of months. It’s a fun site. Go to his page, turn up your volume and click on one of the dancing videos. You’ll watch Matt do his loose, goofy dance around the planet—at some truly strange and famous places. Matt is a “30-year-old deadbeat from Connecticut who used to think that all he ever wanted to do in life was make and play video games.” He is currently trapped in Timbuktu, Mali, on a second round-the-world trip, this time sponsored by a chewing gum company.
