The Tranquilo Traveler
The Tranquilo Traveler is a celebration of voluntourism, slow travel, and other interesting ways to see the world. Travel writer and award- winning Moon Handbooks author Joshua Berman created The Tranquilo Travel as a resource for world trippers and international volunteers, a window to the author’s travels in Nicaragua, Belize, and beyond, and an update of his books and articles.
Winter images from my new back yard
As comfortable as our new home is, with its wind-swept wonderland out the back patio door, it’s difficult to imagine staying longer than a year or two. This is out of habit, a transient’s mindset, trying to be still.

However long Colorado will keep us, the simple pleasure of having somewhere to come back to after yet another trip to either coast or to Central America, is enough.

The snow whips around with the sunshine and I know that, if I want to, I can go out into it. Or I can stay inside and, for once, not go anywhere.

You’ve got me curious. Where in Colorado? I was trying to ID your new home from the pix, kept changing my guesses and in the end, couldn’t be sure.
