RPCV “International Calendar”

cover07-sm.jpgI just received the 2007 International Calendar, an annual fund raising project of the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs) of Wisconsin–Madison. The colorful, engaging images were all taken by volunteers from around the world and provide a small blurb about the photograph, plus some facts on each country. It also mentions various national holidays from all over the globe, giving you a daily excuse to celebrate things like Martinique Emancipation Day (May 22) or Tumpek Kandang, the Balinese Blessing of the Animals Day (February 17). I’m glad my PC-Nica buddy, Michele, sent it as a gift, since my grand plans to design and sell a Tranquilo Traveler calendar fell through this year. The Wisconsin folks say: “We began the International Calendar Project in 1987 to share Peace Corps experiences with our home communities and to raise money for grassroots projects in the countries where we served or in which we live.”

Thanks for mentioning the RPCV International Calendar. We are a small group of people who volunteer our time to produce this calendar as a fund raiser. Our way of giving back to those who shared so generously to us. We are always looking for good photos. Check out the website www.rpcvmadison.org for guidelines and submission forms. Anyone can enter the photo contest.
