The Tranquilo Traveler

The Tranquilo Traveler is a celebration of voluntourism, slow travel, and other interesting ways to see the world. Travel writer and award- winning Moon Handbooks author Joshua Berman created The Tranquilo Travel as a resource for world trippers and international volunteers, a window to the author’s travels in Nicaragua, Belize, and beyond, and an update of his books and articles.

Shopping for Traveling Buddhas

I’ll always think of Jeff Greenwald’s excellent book, Shopping for Buddhas, whenever I see a price tag on the enlightened belly. This is how I lost mine. Now I’m wondering if I should purchase a new Buddha or wait for one to appear. Reckon it’s time to go to the Daily Zen Meditation Room, “where at any given moment you may be sharing silent meditation with others from around the world. Please pause now. Take a deep breath, sit tall and comfortably.”

I’ll see you in there.
