Belize Manatees in the National Geographic News

I love this National Geographic News article, “Manatee Protections in Belize Should Be World Model, Expert Says,” not only because of the important issue it addresses but also because the “expert” marine biologist it features is a friend of mine, the same Caryn Self-Sullivan who contributed syrenian-related text, photos, and yes, expertise, to the last edition of Moon Handbooks Belize. Turns out there’s a lot going on under the waves and I’m excited to get wet next month and see for myself. Not sure if I’ll invest in an underwater camera casing, but definitely prepare for some tranquilo reef reports.
