The Tranquilo Traveler
The Tranquilo Traveler is a celebration of voluntourism, slow travel, and other interesting ways to see the world. Travel writer and award- winning Moon Handbooks author Joshua Berman created The Tranquilo Travel as a resource for world trippers and international volunteers, a window to the author’s travels in Nicaragua, Belize, and beyond, and an update of his books and articles.
GoToNicaragua.com Site Launch!
I am happy to announce the launch of www.GoToNicaragua.com, a website devoted to living and traveling in Nicaragua. GoToNicaragua.com is the official website for the two guidebooks I wrote about Nicaragua with my compa and coauthor, Randy Wood.
GoToNicaragua.com is an effort to gather and host a community of thoughtful travelers and would-be expats where we can encourage conversation, tip sharing, and commentary.
Randy and I have responded to every piece of author mail we have received since the first edition of Moon Handbooks Nicaragua hit the shelves in 2002 and we plan on responding to readers of our brand new title, Living Abroad in Nicaragua. GoToNicaragua.com takes those exchanges with our readers public amidst an intelligent and helpful community of Nicaphiles like ourselves. If you think you might be interested, please have a look. We’re just starting to get the word out and invite folks to c’mon in, and your help is welcome.
A big part of the site is the user forum, where travelers can post questions, comments, and links about traveling, working, studying, volunteering, and living in Nicaragua. Randy and I will moderate the site the best we can in order to answer important questions and offer advice when asked.
Randy gets all the credit for figuring out the technical aspects of this project, and he did it all with open source software. Check out some of his techie musings here.
