The Tranquilo Traveler

The Tranquilo Traveler is a celebration of voluntourism, slow travel, and other interesting ways to see the world. Travel writer and award- winning Moon Handbooks author Joshua Berman created The Tranquilo Travel as a resource for world trippers and international volunteers, a window to the author’s travels in Nicaragua, Belize, and beyond, and an update of his books and articles.

What an auspicious way to start the new year! The Tranquilo Traveler is the first featured Blog of the Month in the new “Postings” section of Transitions Abroad magazine, an extraordinary resource which I have mentioned on these pages more than once. Pick up the January/February, 2006 issue at a newsstand near you and turn to page 13 for the full write-up. The current issue also features a unique international tourist initiative along the Mekong River, as well as a focus on finding short-term work opportunities around the world.

My humble website is also mentioned on The Happy Traveler, a collection of first hand independent travel articles edited by Chris Mitchell, a British travel writer based in Bangkok, Thailand.
