The Tranquilo Traveler
The Tranquilo Traveler is a celebration of voluntourism, slow travel, and other interesting ways to see the world. Travel writer and award- winning Moon Handbooks author Joshua Berman created The Tranquilo Travel as a resource for world trippers and international volunteers, a window to the author’s travels in Nicaragua, Belize, and beyond, and an update of his books and articles.
Tranquilo Traveler on Rick Steves Radio
My interview about traveling in Belize with Rick Steves will air this weekend (October 21 and 22, 2005) on public radio stations across the U.S. Yes, the Tranquilo Traveler goes to Seattle, Spokane, South Dakota, San Bernadino, and (my favorite) Unalaska-Dutch Harbor, Alaska! I’ve never been to any of these places, so am quite excited. The show, “Travel with Rick Steves” (Program #27), will eventually be available for download on Rick’s website, as well as podcasting on iTunes. Click below for stations and program times.

Hey Josh, Glad to hear that you’ll be on Rick Steve’s radio. Jen Leo’s Written Road blog also mentioned that Rick Steve’s solicited questions from readers for an upcoming broadcast interview with SF Chronicle travel editor about “How Newspaper Travel Sections Work.” I am not sure when it is to air. So if you hear about this, let me know. I will keep you posted if I find out. I look forward to hearing your interview. Hope you are well over there!
