The Tranquilo Traveler
The Tranquilo Traveler is a celebration of voluntourism, slow travel, and other interesting ways to see the world. Travel writer and award- winning Moon Handbooks author Joshua Berman created The Tranquilo Travel as a resource for world trippers and international volunteers, a window to the author’s travels in Nicaragua, Belize, and beyond, and an update of his books and articles.
The World Roof Hotel
Here it is, our home for a week-and-a-half in the village of Karimabad. The town’s water comes from the Ultar Glacier, pictured in the gap above, and the Baltit Fort, the old Royal Palace of the Mir is visible toward the top of the treeline:

That’s our room, where the arrow is pointing; below is the view from our balcony:

Not bad, huh? But we must leave sometime. . .
